  1. NOTICE OF NEW PROCEDURE FOR SENDING ASSOCIATION INFORMATION

Forskarföreningen vid Åbo Akademi r.f will now transfer to send out association information via the union’s membership register’s e-mail function. At the same time, the old forskarforeningen@abo.fi is being closed down. You as a member do not have to do anything.

  1. INVITATION TO AUTUMN ASSEMBLY

Forskarföreningen vid Åbo Akademi r.f.  invites its members to the Autumn Assembly on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 12-14 o’clock. This year the autumn meeting will be held as a lunch party with bubbles at Restaurant Grädda in Turku, and with the opportunity to also participate via Zoom.

Please notify your attendance in person (with dietary requirements), or by Zoom to ffaasekreterare@abo.fi by November 10. The meeting deals with statutory matters such as the election of the Board of FfÅA for 2022. We will also select the winner of the idea competition for anniversary events, which was held earlier this year. Due to the pandemic situation that has still eluded us during this anniversary year, the Board have decided to postpone some of the planned events for next year, so the celebration continues!

The autumn meeting gives us in the board a chance to get to know you as members, and at the same time gives you an opportunity to discuss with each other! This year we are also very interested in getting more and new people on the board, so if you have a small interest or become interested in hearing more about the board work, do not hesitate to contact or come along and hear more about us at the autumn meeting!

  1. INVITATION TO FfÅA’s 60th ANNIVERSARY DINNER

60 years ago, on 25 October 1961, the “Assistent- och lärarföreningen vid Åbo Akademi” was founded, which in 1986 got the new and today familiar name Forskarföreningen vid Åbo Akademi r.f. Already in the first year, the association started work on influencing the wage development of assistants at the university. Over the years, the association has worked hard and actively for the collective interests of its members, socio-economic goals, job security, legal protection and opportunities for meaningful influence over the management of the university, education and research, both within Åbo Akademi University and at national and international level.

The 60 years are celebrated with an anniversary dinner on Thursday 18 November at Aboa Vetus Ars Nova at 18-23 o’clock. Dress code: Dark suit

All members are most welcome to participate! RSVP with dietary requirements to ffaasekreterare@abo.fi by November 12.
