Are you interested in advocating for Early Career Researchers’ issues? The Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers (FUURT) is now looking for members to the ECR Committee of the Union. ECR is a term to depict doctoral researchers and those who have defended their dissertation within few years. Committee members are required to be FUURT members.
The ECR Committee supports FUURT’s advocacy work in issues relating to ECRs, grant research and international situations. The Committee is involved also in the work of the European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers, Eurodoc. In 2023, the Committee will participate in conducting a survey on grant research as well as prepares the next ECR survey of the Union.
The working language of the Committee is primarily English. The Committee convenes from five to six times a year. Meetings are held both on Teams and live. FUURT covers the costs for attending the meetings.

Committee members will be selected by the Union board based on a proposal made by the Committee chair and secretary. Representation of as many universities as possible is hoped for. All applicants will be contacted later in February.
