In its last meeting of the year, on 10 December, the Network will hear two different career stories from PhD holders who have moved their careers outside university.
Sanni Tiitinen, Senior Researcher, JAMK. Sanni earned her doctorate in social psychology from the University of Tampere in 2015. She worked in the university sector as a postdoctoral researcher between 2015 and 2021. Since autumn 2021, she has worked as a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Rehabilitation at Jamk University of Applied Sciences.
Iiro Virtanen, Technical Leader, Nokia. Iiro got his PhD in space physics from the University of Oulu in 2019, and continued there as a postdoctoral researcher, before moving to Nokia in 2022. At Nokia he has worked in system-on-chip R&D, first as a senior software engineer, and later as a technical leader.
Join this meeting and take your chance to ask questions from PhD holders working in R&D positions in different sectors!
What is the labour market situation for PhD holders, how do you plan your career after a PhD, and how are the jobs outside university? Whatever your question is, prepare it ready for Sanni and Iiro – and to your peers!
