Employer deduction of membership fees for employees at universities of applied sciences on hold

The automatic employer deduction of membership fees for members of the Union of Research Professionals working at universities of applied sciences was discontinued on 1 April. The interruptions are due to industrial action decisions made by employers of universities of applied sciences.

As a countermeasure to the universities of applied sciences labour disputes, Sivista (Finnish Education Employers) has instructed its members—universities of applied sciences acting as employers and their payroll departments—to suspend the automatic collection of union membership fees starting from 1st of April.

The automatic employer collection of membership fees at universities of applied sciences will be suspended until further notice. A resolution to the collective agreement dispute is currently being sought under the direction of the National Conciliator.

Check Your Payslip and Union Membership Fee

If automatic employer collection applies to you, please check your upcoming payslips to see whether the Union’s membership fee has been deducted from your salary. If the fee has not been deducted for any given month, you can easily pay your membership fee through Research Professionals’ e-services.

Detailed instructions for paying the membership fee through e-services can be found below. Please remember that the suspension of employer collection does not remove your obligation to pay the membership fee.

If you have any questions regarding your membership fees, please contact the Union’s membership services at the e-services. Additionally, we are available by phone from Monday to Thursday between 9:00 and 12:00 on 020 7589 619.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this situation and will communicate any changes directly to our members.
