A successful municipality incorporates research-based knowledge in policymaking.
Municipalities are the place to decide how, for example, teaching and cultural services and local economic policy will be improved in the next few years. The next municipal elections will take place on 18 April 2021.
The municipal election themes of the Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers will emphasise using research-based knowledge in municipal policymaking and the role of the municipality in building co-operation between universities and different sectors. The new Union Board accepted these themes in the January meeting.
