The Union of Research Professionals is establishing a new type of national network for all early career researchers and those interested in their advocacy. The network will begin its activities in March. Register for the network through the Union’s e-service.
The intention is for the network to gather remotely for meetings about four times a year. The meetings will discuss topical issues related to, for example, doctoral education and research, working conditions and well-being, as well as career prospects as a doctoral researcher or after receiving a doctorate.
The network is specifically meant for Union members who are working on their doctoral thesis or who have recently graduated with a doctorate. The purpose is to provide current information to support the work of early career researchers and to create opportunities for discussion with and peer support from other early career researchers. The meetings will also be attended by Union experts and shop stewards as well as guest speakers on specific topics. The primary language of the network is English.
Register through the Union’s e-service
Register for network activities through Research Professionals’ e-service. You will find the network of early career researchers under the e-service ‘Customer Groups’: click on the name of the network and ‘I want to participate’ and save the information. After that, your network membership will be displayed on the ‘My information’ page in the e-service. You can also leave the network the same way at any time.
Information about the network meetings and other current topics will only be communicated to members who have registered for the network. The network will begin its activities in March.

The network gives you the opportunity to hear information that supports your own work, to discuss with your peers, to ask questions from experts, and to influence the issues for which Research Professionals will undertake advocacy regarding early career researchers!
