TATTE organizes a May Day event on the 29th April at 14:00-15:30 in the amphitheater in front of Pinni B, city center campus, or if it is raining, in Toivo in the Main building.
In addition to traditional May Day themes, this year we celebrate the return to campus. During the event we will hear speeches e.g. from Academy Research Fellows Virve Peteri (in Finnish) and Derek Ruez (in English), as well as Senior Research Fellow and Chief Shop Steward Sinikka Torkkola. At about 15 o’clock an orchestra Bony Mäihiäinen plays an acoustic gig, and they have told that their styles are Middle Eastern and Islamic studies, wood processing technology, social philosophy, and media design and conservation. Also during the event, Tatte will announce the opening of applications for the work community wellbeing grant.
Tatte offers traditional Finnish May Day treats sima (“mead”) and vegan munkki (“doughnuts”) to everyone.
Welcome and remember to put on warm clothes!
