As a member, you can support and participate in advocacy for workers in research and higher education. SATY serves as a nationwide network of scholarly professionals, offering valuable opportunities for members to strengthen their ties to the scholarly community and enhance their sense of academic identity, regardless of their workplace.

SATY members are entitled to all the membership benefits of The Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers. The shop stewards of the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals (JUKO) and the Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff (YTN) help our members at their workplaces in employment-related questions. We ensure that our members can easily connect with the right individuals when they have concerns or require assistance.

Furthermore, SATY is committed to supporting the professional growth and well-being of our members in their workplaces by providing grants, which are awarded once a year.

We arrange both virtual and in-person events, often in collaboration with local FUURT chapters.
