Sanctums of Science and Scholarship visits the Academy of Finland Centre of Excellence in the History of Experiences (HEX) at Tampere University (https://research.tuni.fi/hex/) on May 9, 2023!
The Centre of Excellence studies the role and place of experiences in society and in explaining history. It presents a new approach, history of experiences, to establish how people’s experiences are formed, how they are interpreted and how they influence individuals’ relationships to their community and to society at large.

16.00 (Lecture Hall Pinni B1096, Pinni B Building, Kanslerinrinne 1, 33014 Tampere University): Open lecture by HEX’s researcher Rob Boddice: “Pain: A Sensational History of Knowledge and Experience”. (Organized by HEX.)
Around 17 (Pinni B1096): Leader of the HEX’s research team “Lived Nation”, Senior Research Fellow with a Title of Docent in Finnish history Ville Kivimäki tells us about HEX and answers to our questions.
Around 18.30: Afterwork at Restaurant Telakka (Tullikamarinaukio 3, 33100 Tampere). SATY offers drinks to the members (one drink/participant).
